Set up three generations ago, its instore clientele reads like a Who’s Who list of Mumbai’s most prominent celebrities. From the youngest crop of film stars to the first ladies of India’s industrial houses, they visit Curio Cottage to get their fill of exotic and unique statement jewelry pieces. Our patrons have been coming to us since they were in college and now their granddaughters frequent our stores!” says Anand Bathija, the third-gen family member who currently manages the business along with his wife, Ekta, and sister, Reshma.
Crafting these fabulous designs are a dedicated corps of artisans, from all over India. Anand and his family have worked with these talented master karigars across generations, supporting them and nurturing their artistry. From the gorgeous temple jewelry of South India to minakari, Kundan, and pachikaam from Rajasthan and Gujarat, to filigree from Orissa, and delicately worked pieces from Bengal, our jewelry is inspired by India’s rich heritage of design and artisanry.

We are run by women; we employ women and we cater to women! From our in-house designers, to our sales and operations team and of course, our wonderful clientele, Curio Cottage is a women’s brand, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Our designs and inspiration have changed and grown with today’s women. She wears our pieces to work, to board meetings, and for the most important events in her life—for that special first date to the day she marries the love of her life! Our journey is intimately connected to her journey and she is who keeps us motivated.
1971 – Curio Cottage opens, in the heritage precinct of Colaba.
2000 – The store expands! Becomes the iconic store it is today!
2005 – We expand further! Double our space and our flagship store is born!
2009 – Bandra houses a new edition of Curio Cottage
2014 – We open in Koregaon Park, Pune
2017 – Our Silver Exclusive opens on Linking road, Santacruz!
2019 – The Bandra store expands, becomes our 3rd flagship store!
